Graphics editing and redesign

As well as editing of text, our services now cover editing of graphics—figures, maps, charts, graphs and photos. This service is ideal for clients who need to convert low-resolution graphics to press quality for publication.

Experience in providing government and private clients with graphic editing and redesign as part of the overall document editing process means that we can save you time and reproduce high-quality graphics cost effectively. You don't need to hire a graphic designer for simple redesign work.

We work with clients to obtain press-quality figures for their document. For instance, we can liaise with copyright holders and/or authors to obtain graphics. If high-resolution graphics cannot be obtained, or because a publication deadline is looming, we will reproduce graphics with the same style, colours and text better than the original, and obtain copyright permissions. And because we use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft PowerPoint with a graphics tablet, we can produce industry-standard vector or raster formats that publishers can use.

Techniques include creating and importing graphic objects, creating separate layers to overlay different types of graphics and text, 'stitching' scanned images, photo filtering and sharpening, touching up, resizing, modifying colour space, and file formatting for print and web media.
